About the Fire Sprinkler Association  

The Fire Sprinkler Association was instrumental in -

  • Obtaining a British Standard for Residential Sprinklers for the UK.

  • Providing training for domestic and residential sprinkler installers and designers.

  • Setting up a 3rd-party Certification scheme for Residential installers through FIRAS

  • Expanding the UK market from 800,000 heads a year to nearly 2,000,000.

  • Gaining support for sprinklers from the Government and the Fire Service

  • Agreeing a protocol for sprinklers with the Water Industry

  • Getting fire sprinklers into the 2007 edition of the Building Regulations

However it was closed down in October 2006.

A new organisation - Residential Sprinkler Associates -  now provides support for the domestic and residential sector of the fire sprinkler industry.
